Emily Mughannam creates environments that are as timeless as they are modern. Drawing from her intuition for structure and space, Emily works closely with her clients in order to reflect their tastes, their desires, and their vision. Her inspirations take rooms from the ordinary to the unforgettable.
Emily integrates a thoughtful eco-friendly approach into each project. When combined with her unique sense of style, she is able to create beautiful spaces that also support a healthy home life.
A graduate of the accredited Design Institute of San Diego, Emily spent the first five years of her career consulting with notable Los Angeles and San Francisco firms, including Toll Hammerschmidt Design, Sorensen Architects, Kimberly Rider Interiors and the Jeffers Design Group. While collaborating with these innovative designer teams, she began developing her own eclectic style.
Upon settling down in San Francisco with her husband Andrew in 2007, Emily set up her boutique design firm, em design interiors. Specializing in the high-end residential market, Emily enjoys working on whole-home projects as well as small remodels and decorating individual rooms- what she likes to call “instant style.” Her innovative design sense drives the creation of environments that are a fine balance of function, style and sophistication, growing organicially from the uniqueness of each space and the vision of each client. Whether starting from scratch or working within a client’s existing themes, she is committed to delivering results beyond expectations.
